MEC Environmental Policy

MEC Adelaide is committed to respecting and nurturing our environment.  In July 2009 we commissioned an independent carbon management company, Balance Carbon to conduct a Greenhouse Gas (GHG) audit and all staff have been working towards a 15% reduction goal year on year.  Staff are asked to be mindful of this in particular with the following:

• Minimising printing and printing black and white, double sided pages where possible
• Turning off light and powerpoints if not needed
• Switching off computers and monitors every night before leaving
• Minimising waste and recycling where possible
• Requesting that reps minimise hard copies where possible and cancelling any publication if they are not needed

MEC Adelaide has also invested in reputable Carbon Credits that are verified by an independent third party to off-set all emissions  to become fully Carbon neutral certified.  We as a company also consider the below Climate Change Policy

• MEC Adelaide conduct annual audits of our Greenhouse Gas emissions by independent expert (Balance Carbon)
• We also conduct regular reviews of our climate change policy with the objective of continuous improvement
• Offset our total carbon footprint from the annual purchase of Carbon Credits from accredited and recognised programmes
• Be Certified Carbon Neutral
• Reduce our Greenhouse Gas by 15%.
• Develop and institute recommendations that will reduce our carbon footprint
• Ensure full staff involvement in meeting our reduction goals.
• Encourage awareness and collaboration of our policy with clients, suppliers, associations and industry bodies
